The industries and trackage as best I can recollect in the non-electric portion of LIRR Montauk branch Western Suffolk County, NY Babylon MU electric coach yard car wash facility on main line (in use? :-) Bay Shore Bay Shore Lumber closed - south side trailing point switch eastbound 1 track abandoned in the last few years. --------------------------------- ------------------------/-------- East -> --------------------/ xxxLumber Islip Westbound Bayslip Plumbing Supply - north siding, back freight loading door visible. Siding abandoned since sixties and torn up with new station platform restorations in 90's 84 Lumber (built late 60's early 70's) - 1980's occasional bulkhead flat car load, mostly plug door Thrall type lumber cars. 1990's occasional car spotted east across Grant Ave (could be off line industry or LCL unloading?) Grinnell Lithograph good sized plant north of tracks 100 yards. May have received freight from siding as there was a path through wooded area. Eastbound Islip Coal & Feed - large coal bunker demolished in late 60s. Used on site very small loco to spot and pull cars into fenced in coal yard.
